Technology has the power to transform our lives, communities, and the world. In this session we look at the most cutting-edge innovative technologies and approaches solving some of the pressing, and toughest, humanitarian and environmental challenges. Hear from:

  • Dr Sarah Qureshi, the founder of Aero Engine Craft which is developing contrail-free aero-engines for the reduction of global warming and to induce artificial rain during aircraft flight through on-board water recovery from fuel emissions.
  • Dr Chieko Asakawa, the developer of the AI suitcase to help the visually impaired to navigate and manoeuvre safely.
  • Mitchell Feldman from XRAI Glass, a pair of smart glasses powered by augmented reality that convert audio into visuals, turning speech into subtitles in real-time.
  • Roland Damann from MicroBubbles GmbH who are working on a new invention to inject microscopic air bubbles directly and autonomously into stormwater retention ponds, lakes and rivers to remove microplastics.
