Sony launches the Xperia 5 V: Where design meets sustainability

Sony has unveiled its newest phone addition, the Xperia 5 V. According to the company, this launch not only showcases technological advancements but also emphasises their commitment to sustainable choices and elegant design.

Exploring the camera's versatility

The Xperia 5 V is equipped with the "Exmor T for Mobile" image sensor, designed to offer a range of photography options. This includes AI bokeh rendering for portraits and a selection of colour presets. The device features two back lenses that provide three focal lengths: 16mm, 24mm, and 48mm. The 48mm lens offers a 2× zoom capability.

Diving into multimedia and battery performance

The Xperia 5 V comes with a display, front-facing stereo speakers, and audio technologies aimed at enhancing the user's multimedia experience. The device incorporates the "X1 for mobile" processor from Sony's BRAVIA TVs. In terms of battery life, the Xperia 5 V has a 5,000 mAh battery capacity. After a day of use, the battery is reported to retain over 50% of its capacity. The smartphone also supports wireless charging, fast charging, and has Optimised Charging Technology. For gaming, the Xperia 5 V includes a Game Enhancer feature and is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen2 Mobile platform.

Design and eco-friendly choices

The Xperia 5 V's design features a matte finish and is available in three colors: black, silver, and blue. The packaging of the device uses a combination of bamboo, sugar cane fiber, and recycled paper, eliminating the use of plastic. Some parts of the device and its dedicated case use SORPLAS, a recycled plastic developed by Sony. The case for the Xperia 5 V can also be used as a stand, available in matching colors.
