QIMAL - Quality Assurance for Metal Additive Manufacturing
QIMaL Cloud Framework aims to optimize the visual inspection process in additive manufacturing (AM) by identifying and preventing defects during the production of metal parts using SLM or PBF. Defects caused by process randomness and laser powder fusion irregularities can lead to 3D print failures and wasted time, resources, and materials. To overcome this, QIMaL seeks to combine data from various sources, such as machines, CAD simulation, and HD images, to develop a data-driven expert system that can identify and prevent defects and suggest
necessary corrections to the process or design. The system leverages a machine learning module (MLM) integrated with a second data management module (DMM).
