Founded in 1946, the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) is one of the largest business organizations in Korea, representing more than 70,000 member companies engaged in international trade and investment. As a leading private trade body, KITA has played a pivotal role in driving Korea’s economic development by promoting global trade, supporting exporters, and strengthening competitiveness in the world market.

KITA serves as a comprehensive platform that provides policy advocacy, trade information, global networking, and professional training to its members. Key activities of KITA include:

Trade Promotion & Market Development: Supporting Korean companies to explore new global markets through exhibitions, trade missions, and business matchmaking.

Policy & Research: Conducting in-depth research on global trade issues and providing policy recommendations to strengthen Korea’s trade competitiveness.

Global Networking: Operating overseas branches in major economic hubs such as Washington D.C., Brussels, Beijing, and Singapore to build connections and partnerships worldwide.

Education & Training: Offering training programs in trade, digital commerce, and international business to nurture future trade professionals.

Digital Trade Services: Running platforms such as TradeKorea.com to connect Korean suppliers with international buyers and provide e-commerce solutions.

KITA also plays a key role in fostering innovation and entrepreneurship. Together with the Korea Development Bank (KDB), KITA co-hosts NextRise, Seoul, one of Asia’s largest global startup and innovation fairs. The event brings together startups, corporates, and investors from across the world, providing a vital platform for open innovation, business collaboration, and global networking.
