What’s in a name?
IFA started as a radio exhibition, and this is the origin of our name.
As one of the world's longest-running industrial exhibitions, we have retained our initials as a nod to our roots and history.

Today, we are much more than a radio exhibition; we are the global leader in showcasing cutting-edge innovation and technology in home and consumer electronics.

Innovation for all. And we mean all.

As a responsible company, we are not only committed to our employees, but especially to those who take part in one of the world's largest trade show for consumer electronics and home appliances, which we organise and are responsible for. This explicitly includes everyone who visits IFA, works for an exhibitor company or as a service provider for IFA.

Innovation For All means that IFA is a diverse place where gender, identity, origin, religion, language or disability are not barriers. On the contrary:  as a place where the latest innovations in technology are presented, we strive to make IFA a barrier-free space - both physically and ideally. Because technology enables inclusion and true innovation is not created in environments that are restricted by rigid categories or barriers.

We are committed to ensuring that IFA offers an inclusive environment that promotes diversity and facilitates the exchange of ideas between people from all over the world. Through targeted programmes and initiatives, we support the presence and visibility of underrepresented groups. In this way, we not only create space for innovation, but also for real social change."

Meet the driving forces of IFA

Clarion and GFU: two strong partners, one shared mission – to make IFA the world’s leading tech platform.

In 1973, 11 leading companies in the consumer electronics industry founded GFU in Germany. GFU publishes market figures, consumer studies and industry surveys - and is the trademark holder of IFA. Sara Warneke, who has been working in the industry for more than 10 years, is the Managing Director of GFU Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH. "I am delighted that with IFA Management GmbH we have been able to establish a dynamic company that will ensure IFA remains a leading trade show and innovation platform focused on the future. Our wish, and that of our shareholders, is that IFA becomes a brand that peaks at the event in Berlin in September and provides momentum for all the industry sectors involved throughout the year."

Clarion organises both live and digital events every year, attracting buyers with spending and decision-making power who are looking for solutions and innovations to help move their businesses forward. Putting them in contact with the providers of these solutions, and with each other, is the overriding objective, always. Clarion invests heavily in the management of IFA and its team to create a dynamic, forward-thinking and digital culture.
