In a fireside chat titled "Digital Policy Put to the Test," Federal Digital Minister Dr. Karsten Wildberger and Dr. Reinhard Christian Zinkann—Managing Partner at Miele and Spokesperson for the Home Appliances Division at ZVEI (the German Electrical and Digital Industry Association)—discussed the prerequisites for innovation and competitiveness. Journalist and TV presenter Pinar Atalay moderated the discussion on the Innovation Stage.

IFA 2026 Opening Tour: A Look into the Future of Technology
IFA Berlin opened today with the IFA Opening Tour. The tour was led by Dr Karsten Wildberger, Federal Minister for Digital Transformation and Government Modernisation. Also taking part were Dr Silke Launert, Parliamentary State Secretary at the Federal Ministry of Research, Technology and Space; Stefan Evers, Mayor of Berlin and Senator for Finance, representing the Governing Mayor of Berlin; and Franziska Giffey, Mayor of Berlin and Senator for Economic Affairs, Energy and Public Enterprises. Together, the delegation explored the latest innovations in artificial intelligence, robotics, consumer technology and home appliances.

The winners of the 2026 IFA Innovation Awards have been announced: Anker, Insta360 and LG Electronics have been awarded the three main prizes in the international awards programme. In addition, IFA recognised winners in 13 further categories spanning the entire spectrum of consumer electronics, home appliances and future tech. For the first time, the winners of the IFA Innovation Awards were honoured at a dedicated awards ceremony held live at IFA.

IFA Berlin opened the first official day of IFA 2026 with AMD’s Opening Keynote, spotlighting the growing importance of artificial intelligence and high-performance computing for the consumer technology market. IFA Opening Night: A spectacular start at Berlin’s iconic ICC building

Tonight, IFA Berlin and GFU Home & Consumer Tech hosted the IFA Opening Night at the ICC Berlin building. Representatives from politics and business were among the guests. Political guests included Mayor and Senator for Economic Affairs, Energy, and Public Enterprises, Franziska Giffey, Raed Saleh, Chair of the SPD Parliamentary Group in the Berlin House of Representatives, and Jörg Stroedter, Deputy Chair of the SPD Parliamentary Group and Member of the Berlin House of Representatives. Also in attendance were, amongst others, Dr Silke Launert, Parliamentary State Secretary for Research, Technology and Space, and Kirstin Bauch, District Mayor of Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf and Head of the Department of Finance, Human Resources and Economic Development.

IFA Berlin has announced that Luciano has cancelled his performance at the IFA Sommergarten, which was scheduled for Friday 4 September 2026. The Berlin rapper’s announced concert will be cancelled without a replacement. The cancellation applies exclusively to Luciano’s announced performance on 4 September 2026. IFA Management deeply regrets the cancellation of the concert.

Reseller Park is growing to Europe’s leading B2B marketplace for CE and ICT distribution
