ABOVE is a Seoul-based design studio helping technology companies transform complex ideas into products, brands, and experiences that people can understand, trust, and use.
Founded in 2019, we work across product design, brand strategy and identity, UI/UX, packaging, spatial design, and exhibition design. Rather than treating these disciplines as separate services, we approach them as one connected design system.
Our work focuses on technology-driven products and emerging industries, including AI, LiDAR-based motion capture, neurotechnology, digital healthcare, blockchain hardware, and smart devices. Because the value of advanced technology is not always immediately visible, we begin by understanding how it works, what makes it different, who will use it, and why it matters. We then translate that understanding into a clear product experience and a coherent visual and verbal identity.
We collaborate closely with engineers and manufacturers, considering production methods, component layouts, usability, materials, assembly, and cost alongside aesthetics. Our goal is to create designs that can realistically move toward production and market launch.
ABOVE also develops positioning, naming, visual identities, digital experiences, packaging, and physical environments that communicate the value of technology consistently across every touchpoint. We often work as an extension of our clients’ product, engineering, and marketing teams, supporting them as a long-term design partner.
