HYBO is a solid-state LiDAR specialist headquartered in Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, Korea. The company is a technology-based venture spun off from the Intelligent Robotics Laboratory at Pohang University of Science and Technology (POSTECH). HYBO develops and supplies LiDAR products and spatial-recognition solutions based on internally developed ToF ranging, light-source, optical-design, algorithm and signal-processing technologies.
▪ Dec. 2022: Received the Gyeongsangbuk-do Startup Innovation Grand Prize
▪ Mar. 2023: Selected for Samsung Electronics C-Lab Outside
▪ Apr. 2023: Selected for the Super Gap Startup 1000+ Program
▪ Sep. 2024: Selected for LG Electronics SuperStart
▪ Oct. 2024: Received the KES Innovation Award
▪ Oct. 2025: Received the KES Innovation Award
▪ Jan. 2026: Received the CES Innovation Award
In a market divided between high-priced automotive LiDAR and low-cost, low-performance distance sensors, HYBO develops solid-state LiDAR under the philosophy of creating “LiDAR that the market actually needs.” Its goal is to popularize LiDAR by delivering both the performance and cost efficiency required in industrial environments.
HYBO’s flagship iTFS Series consists of iTFS-110/80, a high-performance industrial LiDAR; iTFS-MINI, a CES 2026 Innovation Awards Honoree; and iTFS-LITE, a robotics-focused model scheduled for launch in 2026. The main target markets include industrial automation, smart infrastructure, service robots and Physical AI-based robotics.
Beyond supplying sensors, HYBO provides LiDAR-based AI human-detection and spatial-recognition solutions as a total LiDAR solution provider, using Pohang as its base for global market expansion.
