Aiming to gather global wisdom and stimulate innovative vitality, the 21st China Household Appliance Innovation Award Ceremony, orga-ized by China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute (CHEARI)co-organized byNational Household Appliances Industry Information Center (NAIC), supported by International Funkausstellung Berlin (IFA), Deutschen Kommission Elektrotechnik Elektronik Informationstechnik (DKE), German Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and Design Strategy and Prototype Innovation Institute of Art & Science Research Centre of Tsinghua University, was held at IFA tradeshow in Berlin, Germany on September 5, 2025. 

Mr. Liu Ting, President of China Household Electric Appliance Research Institute, delivered opening remarks through a video. He said, China’s household appliance industry has demonstrated extraordinary resilience in the complex and ever-changing international environment in 2025. The equipment upgrade and consumer goods trade-in programs implemented by the Chinese government have stimulated the release of a trillion-level consumption potential, and propelled the continuous growth of household appliance sales volume. China Household Appliance Innovation Award has been held for 21 years since its launch in 2005. During this period, the event has witnessed several brand companies rising to the top of their industries through independent R&D and technological innovation; assisted Chinese household appliance brands in advancing from leading in the domestic market to shining on the international stage; also established a collaborative ecosystem covering industry, academia, research and application, transforming innovative technologies into products that benefit hundreds of millions of users. As a national research institute with industry-leading status, CHEARI consistently adheres to the technology-driven development philosophy, and has been dedicated to promoting independent innovation in China’s household appliance industry. CHEARI is committed to being resolute companions on the path of high-quality development of the household appliance industry, and willing to work together with everyone to draw the future blueprint for a household appliance innovation powerhouse.

Mr. Li Jun, Counselor at the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Federal Republic of Germany said. As the largest household appliance manufacturing country and consumption market in the world, China is undergoing the historic leap from Made-in-China to Created-in-China, from Chinese Products to Chinese Brands.China and Germany have established an economic and trade cooperation with solid foundation, rich content and high resilience for a long time.The holding of China Household Appliance Innovation Award Ceremony is a concentrated showcase of innovative capability for China’s manufacturing industry.It is a valuable opportunity to deepen mutual learning and trust between China and Germany in the manufacturing sector.It is also a solemn pledge to join hands in addressing challenges and creating a shared future.

Mr. Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management GmbH, highly praised the persistence and dedication of China Household Appliance Innovation Award. He stated that over the past years, the collaboration between IFA and China Household Appliance Innovation Award has transcended

simple cooperation, becoming a striking feature on the global household appliance innovation landscape—showcasing the charm of ‘Made in China’ and highlighting the innovative core of co-creation, co-growth, and shared development in the global household appliance industry.
