Fresh tech, smart collabs and anniversary specials heating up IFA 2025
IFA Berlin and WeAreDevelopers: Shaping the Digital Future Together
IFA Berlin and WeAreDevelopers, Europe’s largest community for software developers, have joined forces. The goal: to bring consumer tech and software development closer together – creating fresh momentum around AI, cloud and new digital business models. The partnership kicked off at the WeAreDevelopers World Congress in July 2025 in Berlin. There, leading executives from IFA exhibitors came together at the Tech Leaders Summit – featuring keynotes, engaging panels and plenty of space for networking. Now the collaboration continues at IFA Berlin: The Tech Leaders Briefing will offer visitors a curated programme with international speakers, roundtables with tech experts and a relaxed sundowner in the VIP Lounge of the Marshall House. This partnership builds a new network at the crossroads of consumer tech, software and AI – a place where manufacturers, developers and decision-makers can come together to shape the digital future.
Time for Champagne!
To mark its 60th anniversary, Technics unveils the EAH-AZ100 earbuds in a new Champagne Gold edition. With advanced noise cancelling, the brand’s pioneering Magnetic Fluid Driver technology and up to 10 hours of playback, they deliver both depth and clarity. Director Michiko Ogawa – a jazz pianist herself – shaped the anniversary line under the banner “Technics Reborn”, merging acoustic precision with contemporary design.

Two Players for the Win
While IFA turns Charlottenburg into the global hotspot for consumer tech, another big player is meeting just across town: the IEEE – the world’s largest professional association for engineering and technology – hosts its International Conference on Consumer Electronics (ICCE-Berlin) at the Estrel in Neukölln.
Highlights include Prof. Peter Siebert on the lessons from DVB-H and MediaFLO – and why 5G Broadcast might succeed where others failed. And on Sunday, 7 September (14:00–15:30), the ICCE-Berlin Industrial Forum tackles data centers and climate neutrality, with Dr.-Ing. Christian Gross presenting new models for decentralised heat supply. For Berlin visitors, this means even more insights beyond the IFA show floor: a chance to dive deeper into future tech debates, connect with leading researchers and discover where consumer electronics is heading next.
Home Is Where the Future Is
Each year, lifestyle magazine H.O.M.E. challenges visionary architects to rethink how we live. For 2025, Vienna’s Coop Himmelb(l)au turns the idea of a house into a floating cloud. Instead of a static floor plan it has movable platforms that constantly reconfigure themselves. A dynamic living space that feels more like an event than a building. Presented as 3D model, VR and feature, the H.O.M.E. Haus 2025 shows how architecture can be playful, flexible and futuristic – and still speak to our need for comfort and connection. And with Coop Himmelb(l)au’s trademark “architecture must burn” ethos, it pushes the boundaries of what home can mean in the 21st century.
