At IFA, technology becomes an experience

At IFA, technology becomes an experience

From beauty tech and creator culture to domestic robotics and family experiences, right through to new business models for the circular economy: IFA Moments bring innovation at IFA 2026 to life.

Touch, try out, get involved: IFA 2026 is placing greater emphasis on formats that allow visitors not only to see innovation, but to experience it for themselves. IFA Moments curates the most exciting experiences at IFA. This year’s programme includes, amongst other things, IFA Live experiences with humanoid robots, sessions on smart homes and the circular economy, the IFA Pitch Battles and the Creator Hub.

Two highlights in particular exemplify IFA’s experiential nature: in 2026, the Beauty Hub will become a significantly larger interactive Beauty Lab, whilst the IFA Playbox will create, for the first time, a dedicated experience zone for families with children up to the age of twelve. With both formats, IFA makes it clear that the future of consumer technology extends far beyond the individual device. Technology is becoming more personal, more interactive and more deeply integrated into everyday life.

“Innovation has the greatest impact when people can experience it for themselves. IFA is the place where products, games and concerts can be experienced first-hand. With the Beauty Hub, we’re showing just how personal technology has become. With the Playbox, we’re creating, for the first time, a dedicated space where families can discover technology together and have fun. This makes IFA even more of an experience for a wide range of interests and generations,” says Leif Lindner, CEO of IFA Management GmbH.

Beauty Tech & Wellbeing: The Show Area is being transformed into a Beauty Lab

Beauty and wellbeing are evolving into a dynamic field of technology. Artificial intelligence is increasingly enabling personalised applications, wearables are providing ever more detailed data, and digital platforms are bringing together training, prevention, recovery and wellbeing.

The Beauty Tech & Wellbeing Show Area showcases this development at IFA. The spectrum ranges from healthcare products and wearables, through digital fitness solutions and smart apparel, to recovery and wellness applications. The focus is on how technology can help people live healthier lives, better understand their performance and improve their personal wellbeing in the long term.

A highlight within the Show Area is the IFA Beauty Hub. It is designed as a Beauty Lab: a place to try things out, discover and exchange ideas.

This year, the Beauty Hub is moving to Hall 13, enabling IFA to significantly expand its exhibition space. The large hall provides space for interactive product stations, beauty treatments and services, styling sessions, a lounge, and influencer and creator activations. From product testing to on-site applications, visitors can experience beauty tech first-hand.

From LED face masks to digital tattoos

The Beauty Hub’s programme brings together different facets of beauty tech and personal care. The focus is on hands-on experiences. Each brand offers treatments, demonstrations or product experiences. Visitors can try out treatments and products, discovering for themselves what beauty technology feels like.

Nuon Medical invites visitors to try out skincare devices for themselves. At Prinker, temporary digital tattoos become a live experience – with the Tattoo Kiosk, Prinker POP and interactive activities.

TYMO is planning live hair styling sessions for visitors. Dreame will also be represented at the Beauty Hub. The company is showcasing haircare products – from hairdryers to styling tools – as well as the new Chrona Ultra LED face mask.

StylPro is offering ten-minute LED face mask sessions, daily prize draws and is unveiling three new products at IFA. Womanizer is combining an exclusive preview of a previously unreleased product with a competition, goodies and giveaways.

Connected Health is also part of the Hub: Withings is showcasing BodyFit and BodyScan 2. BodyFit is set to launch in retail on 7 September, whilst IFA is underway. The company is also demonstrating new features for its BeamO multi-scan thermometer.

A lounge featuring Anker charging stations and Hitschies sweets creates additional space for visitors, creators and brands to meet.

In doing so, the Beauty Hub is tapping into a fundamental trend: beauty, fitness and health are increasingly converging with data, artificial intelligence and connected technologies. Individual products are evolving into personalised ecosystems that support people in their everyday lives – from training and skincare to recovery and prevention.

IFA Playbox: a new world of experiences for families

Whilst visitors are trying things out, getting styled and testing products in the Beauty Hub, the IFA is creating its own dedicated space for its youngest visitors for the first time elsewhere on the site. With the IFA Playbox, IFA 2026 is launching its own experience area for families with children up to the age of twelve. The Playbox is deliberately not designed as a childcare facility. The focus here is on playing together, discovering, being active and taking creative breaks from the hustle and bustle of the trade fair.

Super RTL is bringing gaming content to the IFA Playbox via TOGGO GG. The programme is complemented by games and activity options: Stapelstein is providing several of its play sets for active play, and Hitschies is stocking its own candy bar with sweets. In addition, Juki & Danyal from Toggo will be on hand at the IFA Playbox for an autograph session.

A special family event is planned for 6 September: KIDDINX is bringing Bibi and Tina to the IFA as walking acts. The two inseparable friends are the main characters of the well-known children’s and family brand ‘Bibi & Tina’ and, together with their horses Sabrina and Amadeus, embark on adventures centred around Martinshof, friendship and horses. Families can also look forward to Bibi & Tina merchandise, friendship bracelets, T-shirts and colouring activities.

The Playbox thus adds a new dimension to the technology on offer at IFA: it creates a shared space for families where digital entertainment, well-known characters, physical activity and creative play come together.

IFA Moments bring innovation from the exhibition halls into everyday life

Beauty Hub and Playbox are two particularly prominent examples of the IFA Moments 2026. Other IFA Moments this year include:

The IFA Creator Hub brings together content creation, media, brands and networking. Spread across two floors and an outdoor area, the space will feature, amongst other things, a Creator Stage, the IFA Streaming Studio, streaming stations, brand activations and a Creator Lounge.

At ‘Robots on the Runway’, humanoid robots take centre stage and walk the catwalk. Complementing this, the session ‘Robots in the Kitchen and Home: From Task-Specific Tools to Humanoids’ explores how robotic systems can support people in the future with cooking, cleaning or living independently in old age.

The session ‘How Air, Connectivity and Intelligence Bridge the Last Mile of Home Wellness’ explores how sensor technology, connectivity and artificial intelligence can evolve the smart home from mere automation into an environment that actively supports comfort and well-being.

At the IFA Pitch Battle, start-ups present their ideas on the Dream Stage to a panel of expert judges and a live audience.

And under the heading ‘Turning e-waste into value’, the industry will discuss how repair, refurbishment and new after-sales models can create additional value beyond the initial sale of a product.

Finally, with “What the Funk”, one of Berlin’s most famous landmarks itself becomes an IFA Moment: to mark the 100th anniversary of the Radio Tower, the IFA brings together the history of technology, Berlin culture and a glimpse into the future. During the trade fair, the Radio Tower will be illuminated in the IFA colours.
