Ekke is a business economist and auditor by education and experience, with a career spanning more than two decades in various financial roles in the European Administration.
Since 2019 Ekke has been involved in the set-up and operations of Europe’s 10 billion flagship programme to support deep tech innovation in Europe: the European Innovation Council (EIC). It’s venture investment arm, the EIC Fund, started operations in 2020 and has already invested in more than 280 start-ups with a total commitment of €2.4bn set to grow to €4bn by 2027.
His focus at this moment is supporting the start-ups in the EIC portfolio with fundraising and commercial development maintaining relations with a wide range of investors and corporates.
