7 Things to Know about IFA

Is there an IFA app?

Yes – and it’s well worth downloading. The app helps you navigate the halls and bookmark exhibitors, among other helpful features. Trade visitors will need a unique email address to unlock full functionality.

Is getting to IFA complicated?

This is Berlin, so there may be a few niggles – it wouldn’t be IFA season otherwise. From 4–9 September, the S-Bahn isn't running between Friedrichstraße and Tiergarten due to bridge works, affecting lines S3, S5, S7, S75 and S9. Replacement buses will keep you moving, and the Ringbahn route from Central Station to Messe Nord/ZOB will operate as usual.

When is IFA 2025 – and how is each day structured?

IFA 2025 runs from 5–9 September at Messe Berlin. On Friday 5 September, entry is reserved for trade visitors until noon, after which the show opens to the public. From Saturday to Tuesday (6–9 September), opening hours are 10:00–18:00.

Is the venue accessible for everyone?

Yes. Messe Berlin is fully accessible and offers designated entrances, complimentary companion tickets for guests with disabilities, rest areas and on-site assistance.

Can I buy products directly at IFA?

Generally not. IFA is a showcase, not a marketplace. However, hands-on testing is encouraged – and some exhibitors may offer exclusive promotions
or direct-to-shop links.

What exactly is IFA Next?

IFA Next is the show’s innovation hub – and the startup zone journalists love to explore. From AI-powered gadgets to visionary sustainability tools, this is where fresh ideas, bold prototypes and future unicorns take shape. If it’s next, it’s here.

Who’s behind IFA?

IFA is organised by IFA Management GmbH – a joint venture between GFU Consumer & Home Electronics GmbH and Clarion Events Ltd. The GFU has been IFA’s conceptual sponsor since its inception, representing the interests of Germany’s consumer electronics and home appliance industries. Clarion Events, headquartered in London, is one of the world’s leading independent event organisers, running more than 180 events worldwide. Together, they bring deep industry expertise and global reach – keeping IFA firmly rooted in Berlin while opening doors for brands and media globally.
