Electronic devices that allow critical raw materials to be recovered. Business models that reliably bring devices and materials back into the loop after use. What individual pioneering companies are already demonstrating today now gets a shared stage: the Cradle to Cradle Electronics Initiative.

In the keynote, Nora Sophie Griefahn and Tim Janßen, co-founders and executive directors of Cradle to Cradle NGO, give closer insights into the initiative, founded together with the Bertelsmann Stiftung and the Röchling Stiftung. The initiative understands itself as a "Community for Change" that moves the electronics industry toward greater circularity. A practical platform for business, science, and civil society is emerging, one that pools knowledge, makes pilot projects visible, and develops transferable solutions to bring circular electronics from niche to market.

The economic relevance of this project is shown by a study developed together with the Boston Consulting Group: it examines the economic potential and strategic necessities of circularity and Cradle to Cradle approaches in the European electronics industry. The study's findings will be presented for the first time in this keynote.

In the panel discussion that follows, high-profile speakers from the field discuss how Cradle to Cradle translates into real products, supply chains, and business models, and where the biggest levers for the electronics industry lie.

Key Takeaways:
Why circularity in the electronics industry is no longer a niche topic but an economic necessity

What economic potential Cradle to Cradle and circularity approaches offer for the European electronics industry, based on the joint study with the Boston Consulting Group

How critical raw materials can be reliably recovered from electronic devices and brought back into the loop through smart design decisions

Which business models successfully bring devices and materials back into the loop after use

Why true circular economy only succeeds across industries, and how the Cradle to Cradle Electronics Initiative brings together business, science, and civil society to make that happen
