Thomas Kakareko is part of a new generation of photographers who grew up with social media. He moves effortlessly from mobile street photography to striking, carefully composed images. His visual style plays with dark, almost monochrome areas, contrasted by vivid colours that cleverly draw the viewer’s eye to the heart of the shot. Early on, he recognised the potential of digital photography and new media. Alongside his photography, he co-founded one of Europe’s first influencer marketing agencies. For over a decade, this Berlin-based artist has shared his work online and is now one of Germany’s best-known photographers, with nearly a quarter of a million followers — even though he prefers to stay invisible himself.
