Giuliana Jakobeit
Plastik im Ohr
Germany
Giuliana Jakobeit is one of the most recognizable voices in the German dubbing industry. She has been working behind the microphone since 1986 and, over the course of four decades, has lent her German voice to internationally renowned actresses and iconic characters.
She is particularly closely associated with Amy Adams and Keira Knightley, whom she voiced, among other roles, as Elizabeth Swann in Pirates of the Caribbean.
Anime and animation audiences have also known her voice for many years. As the German voice of Ran Mori in Detective Conan, Mimi in Digimonand Rainbow Dash in My Little Pony, she has helped shape characters that have become part of the film and television memories of several generations.
Her extensive body of work spans international feature films and television series, animation and anime, as well as audio dramas and audiobooks.
Beyond the recording studio, Giuliana Jakobeit regularly appears at live readings, conventions, libraries and schools, sharing her passion for storytelling, performance and the spoken word directly with audiences.
Drawing on four decades of professional experience, she offers a unique perspective on the art and craft of dubbing at a time when the industry is undergoing profound change through new technologies and artificial intelligence.
At IFA, her perspective brings together a long-established creative craft with one of the defining questions of our time: What role will the human voice play in an increasingly AI-driven media landscape?
