Jonathan Jackson has worked both in private practice and in the Intellectual Property Department of Sony Corporation. Jonathan’s practice mainly concentrates on the drafting and prosecution of patent applications in many jurisdictions around the world. He also has extensive experience of both the appeal and opposition procedures at the European Patent Office.
Jonathan’s clients range from large multi-national companies to smaller start-up companies. He has experience in a wide range of electronics-related technologies including image processing, telecommunications (both network and handset technologies), broadcast technologies, semiconductor devices, optical communications and electrical machines. Jonathan has experience in obtaining patent protection for different aspects of the Blu-Ray Standard, as well as for different 3D image processing techniques.
Jonathan travels regularly to Japan, South Korea and the US to visit clients and to speak at conferences about patent practice. He is a also a member of the Chartered Institute of Patent Attorneys International Liaison Committee.
Jonathan joined D Young & Co in 2006, and became a partner in 2008.
