RoboCup is the world’s largest competition for intelligent robots. Every year, teams from more than 50 regions come together to push the boundaries of artificial intelligence and robotics. For the second year in a row, RoboCup is returning to IFA – with even more teams, impressive robots, and spectacular demos!
At RoboCup, researchers and students from robotics, AI, computer science, electrical and mechanical engineering compete across a range of visionary disciplines. The most spectacular of them all? Robot soccer! Just like in a real tournament, autonomous machines compete against each other – with dynamic play, strategy, and teamwork. The only difference? There are no human players in charge. Instead, intelligent robots have to make decisions autonomously and work together as a team.
This year, teams from across Germany will be joining us at IFA – including the vice world-champion in the league for the smallest humanoid robots. The different robots showcase just how diverse and rapidly evolving these technologies are: the smallest are just 60 centimeters tall, while the largest stand at over 120 centimeters. A lot has happened since last year – which means this year you can expect even more dynamic games, more powerful kicks, and even more thrilling one-on-one battles!
On our RoboCup pitch, you can experience the future of robotics and AI up close. Discover spectacular robot soccer, meet the teams and explore their technologies, and see for yourself what today’s research is already capable of!
