Rick Dumont is Director of Business Development at Philips in the Netherlands, where he leads initiatives related to cordless kitchen wireless power solutions. In this role, he actively supports the advancement and promotion of wireless power technologies for kitchens as a member of the Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) promotion team.

These wireless power solutions are being standardized through the Ki Cordless Kitchen initiative of the WPC, the global organization also responsible for the widely adopted Qi wireless charging standard for mobile devices.

Rick brings more than three decades of experience in business development, marketing, and product management across a broad range of emerging technologies. Prior to his current role, he held various international marketing and product management positions at NXP Semiconductors, formerly Philips Semiconductors, where he contributed to the development and commercialization of advanced silicon solutions.

Throughout his career, Rick has leveraged his extensive technical and commercial expertise to drive innovation and market adoption of new technologies. His experience spans multiple fields of digital connectivity, including Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications (DECT), Near Field Communication (NFC), and the rollout of mobile phone networks during the early expansion of mobile communications.

Rick joined Philips Semiconductors in 1992 after earning a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Telecommunications from Eindhoven University of Technology. As part of his graduate studies, he conducted his thesis research at Philips Research Laboratories in Eindhoven, The Netherlands.

This combination of deep technological knowledge and strategic business leadership continues to support his efforts in accelerating the adoption of next-generation wireless power solutions.
