Michael Wolf

Michael Wolf is the founder and editor in chief of The Spoon, a media and events company focused on the future of food, cooking, kitchens, AI, robotics, and consumer technology. Over the past decade, he has become one of the food tech industry’s leading conveners and ecosystem builders, bringing together entrepreneurs, global brands, appliance makers, retailers, technologists, investors, and food companies to explore how technology is reshaping the future of food.

In 2015, Wolf launched the Smart Kitchen Summit, the first event dedicated to reimagining the consumer kitchen and connected cooking. He later helped establish food technology as a major category within CES through the creation of the CES Food Tech Conference, helping bridge the worlds of consumer technology, appliances, retail, restaurants, and food innovation. In 2023, he launched the Food AI Summit, one of the first events focused on the impact of artificial intelligence across the food system. And in September of 2026, he will help IFA explore the future of food and cooking through a new thought leadership conference track focused on smart living and kitchen.

Through The Spoon’s journalism, podcasts, research, and events, Wolf has helped spotlight emerging technologies and connect the companies and leaders building the next generation of food and kitchen experiences. In addition to his media work, he advises companies and organizations on long-term technology shifts, ecosystem strategy, and the future of connected food experiences.

His writing and commentary have appeared in The New York Times, Forbes, and Gigaom. He also had the leading smart home podcast for three years with the Smart Home Show podcast, and wrote a book about the smart home published by Sam’s Publishing in the early 2000s.
