Vivien Mallant

After completing a Master’s degree in architecture and competing in high-performance sports for several years, she unexpectedly found her way into esports when her brother, a skilled League of Legends player, formed a team to compete in tournaments. At first, she helped out occasionally – mainly with organisational tasks. But things moved fast: from the first tournament win to qualifying for the pro league, what began as casual support quickly turned into a full-time role.

Since 2014, she has worked with her father and brother to build Unicorns of Love, shaping the esports scene, trying new approaches, and promoting topics like talent development and diversity.

Guiding principles:

  • In high-performance sports, competition, and esports — you always lose in your head first.
  • One of the biggest challenges for women in esports is other women in esports.
  • The scene lacks good coaches — many players don’t even realise the potential they have, or what the game itself can become.
