DBB Women: World Cup in Berlin!
The 2026 Women's Basketball World Cup—officially the FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cup 2026—will take place in Germany (Berlin). This decision was made by the Central Board of FIBA, the world governing body for basketball, during a meeting in Manila, Philippines. The German Basketball Federation (DBB) had submitted its bid under the slogan "Time for HER Game." While there were several interested parties, Germany won over the decision-makers with its "early entry" bid.
This marks the second time Germany will host the Women's World Cup, following the 1998 tournament (held in Berlin, Bremen, Dessau, Karlsruhe, Münster, Rotenburg an der Fulda, and Wuppertal). The tournament will take place in Berlin from September 4 to 13, 2026, at the Berlin Arena and the Max-Schmeling-Halle.
