In this Fireside Chat with the Executive Director of the Wireless Power Consortium's, we'll talk about the Qi standard and the launch of Ki – the global wireless power transfer standard for kitchens. Ki (pronounced ‘Key') standard promises a more convenient kitchen that is free of power cords, provides cooking surfaces that are cool to the touch immediately after use, and improves space utilization that optimizes counter space. WPC is comprised of over 300 member companies from across the world, including Apple, Sony, Samsung, Microsoft, Huawei and Google, as well as many smaller and start-up technology companies. Their Qi interface technology is certified for over 9000 different wireless charging products-- a great example of what collaboration and cooperation can do.
While the adoption of AI in the commercial sector is booming, AI and Data Science are barely applied for solving major environmental, humanitarian, and social problems. Mainly, it is because NGOs that work on these problems struggle to adopt new technologies like AI and have barely access to skilled AI and Data Science Professionals. In this talk we will focus on several use cases how AI can help tackle humanitarian and ecological problems of this world and how we can help nonprofit sector to apply AI for benefit of all by creating a strong network of volunteering AI professionals.
