Andreas Mindt is Head of Volkswagen Group Design and Head of Volkswagen Brand Design. He joined the Volkswagen Group in 1996 after graduating from Pforzheim University School of Design. During his first years at Volkswagen, he held various design positions and worked on key models including the first-generation Tiguan and the Golf 7. From 2014 to 2021, he was Head of Exterior Design at Audi, followed by his role as Director of Bentley Design from 2021 to 2023. 

In February 2023, he returned to Volkswagen as Head of Brand Design and, together with his team, established a new design direction for the brand. The resulting “Pure Positive” design language builds on Volkswagen’s heritage and is defined by the three design pillars Stability, Likeability and Secret Sauce, aiming to create clear, timeless and unmistakably Volkswagen products. Since March 2026, Mindt has additionally been responsible for Volkswagen Group Design.
